Photography Classes in New York City

Many students begin with our Digital Photography for Beginners class and then continue with other classes that interest them, like Master Manual Mode at Night or Photo Explorations, allowing them to curate their own personalized mini course.

All levels are welcome, and you can use any camera, including your smartphone. Don't have a camera? You can rent one from us for the session, so you can get started before investing in your own.

Single Sessions

    Digital Photography I: An Introduction for Beginners

    Does your camera confuse you? This 3 hr group class will cover ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed. You'll never want to shoot in auto mode again! You will need to bring a camera with manual mode. You can also rent cameras from us for $30 for the session.

    Digital Photography II: Master Manual Mode at Night

    In this 2 hour group class we will review the basics of manual mode as well as practice how to capture NYC at night. No tripods and no flash allowed. Understanding of how to photograph in manual mode is necessary. Location: Lincoln Center.

    Photo Explorations (formerly Walk About)

    Want to take more interesting photos? In this 2 hr group class we'll explore a NYC neighborhood and play with composition, perspective, point of view, and more - plus tips and tricks for capturing better shots on your phone. All levels and any camera welcome - even smartphones!

    Art of Intuitive Photography

    Our signature class. In this 2 hr group session you'll learn to quiet the thinking mind, tune into your intuition, and discover a more creative, present way of photographing. Through simple, playful exercises, you'll start trusting what draws your eye and capturing photos that feel like something. No experience needed - all levels and any camera welcome, even smartphones.

    Pay What You Wish

    In this 1 hr Pay What You Wish Class you will learn tips and tricks on how to capture more interesting images and the top mistakes beginners make. Use your Smartphone or camera to impress your friends with your new knowledge (and amazing photos).

    Private Lessons + Tours

    We can customize private lessons and tours to your desired wants and needs. All levels and all digital cameras are welcome - including smartphones. Sessions can be as short or as long as you like. You can also rent cameras for $30 from us if you don't own one or don’t want to use your smartphone.

    Private Coaching

    Private coaching can be held in-person or online. All levels welcome. We customize the session around your specific needs and wants to help you get to your next level. Topics can include learning how to use a camera, composition, photo editing, portfolio review, marketing, how to establish a photography business, etc.
